Hon, Steve Maharey will be updating us on developments at Massey, including their innovation programme and outlining the potential for partnership between Massey University and local business.
Before his 2008 appointment, he was the forth ranked Minister in Government holding various cabinet portfolios including Education and Research,Science and Technology.
A Palmerston North City Councillor from 1986-89, this sociology graduate and lecturer entered national politics the following year. He held the Palmerston North constituency seat for Labour until leaving Parliment before the last general election to take up his position with Massey.
He was appointed a Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit (CNZM) in 2009.
