Police MOU

The NHBA is a founding member of a Police initiated community partnership that was set up to address commercial burglaries in the North Harbour area.
At the beginning of 2010 the Association signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Police.
We meet bi-monthly with other groups including the Police, NZ Community Patrols, North Shore City Council, and Department of Corrections. One aim of the group is to encourage the sharing and reporting of information from businesses of criminal activity or burglaries and systems are being setup to facilitate this.
A safety brochure will be produced shortly and we are working on establishing a CPTED (Crime Prevention through Environmental Design) programme working with, and educating, local businesses to help reduce opportunities for break-ins.
